Security seals off christ the way church over family dispute.

Security operatives have halted activities at Christ the way Church in Hoima City.

The halt follows a bitter dispute over family members on the land which the church seats.

Children of the late pastor Stephen Kaliisa and Florence Kaliisa are fighting over their parents’ land where one of his brothers, a David King Kaliisa has set up a church, accusing him of land grabbing

Donanto Kasigazi, a leader in the Hoima east city division says the children are entitled to their parent’s property.

The Albertine region Police spokesperson ASP Julius Hakiza Allan says that security intervened to prevent the warring parties from clashing.

As investigations go on, Hakiza notes that the contested land remains under police surveillance.

The family heir Martin Kahwa, and Harriet Karungi, the elder sister to the accused say that the church is a registered limited company with seven board members who included Christine Nyakahara, Evelyn Kabaliisa, Evas Bitaroho, late Jackson Magezi and Joktan Kahumuza but now their younger brother David King Kaliisa has personalized both the church and the land.

These also accuse David King of conniving with some of the company board of directors to change the land title; something they say will not see the light of the day.

The accused however insists that his seniors are after stealing church offerings because the land church belongs to the community.

Kasigazi an area leader now says he has called for a meeting between the two warring parties and their followers.

Police on the hand maintains that officers are on stepping foot out of the contests land until peace prevails.
