Minister Musasizi Urges Economically Strained Families To Consider Technical Education
Henry Musasizi, the State Minister for Finance and General Duties, and also the Member of Parliament for Rubanda East constituency, has encouraged financially challenged parents to enrol their children in technical schools for faster access to lucrative employment opportunities.
He said it because some parents have since complained of the ever-rising amounts of school dues demanded by schools. This was in Kigezi diocese during induction of one of the archdeacons
Speaking at the induction ceremony of Bubaare Archdeacon, Ven. Oscar Mwesigwa, overseen by Rt. Rev. Gad Akanjuna, Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Musasizi emphasized the importance of providing sound career guidance to students, particularly those facing financial constraints, to pave the way for a promising future.
In his address, Musasizi reiterated his call for active participation in the Parish Development Model, a government-led initiative aimed at alleviating poverty among individuals in the subsistence economy. The minister emphasized the program's potential to uplift household incomes and improve economic conditions.
During the induction ceremony, Bishop Akanjuna guided Archdeacon Mwesigwa through the oath-taking process, officially transferring the mantle of leadership and presenting him with the symbolic tools of power.
Leaders present at the event appealed to the newly appointed archdeacon to not only focus on spiritual matters but also to champion social development in the region.
Before assuming the role of archdeacon, Rev. Mwesigwa served as the Kigezi Diocesan Education Coordinator, showcasing his dedication to educational development within the diocese.
