The Bishop of Bukedi diocese, the Rt Rev Samuel Bogere Egesa flagged off the young pilgrims at Namugongo Anglican site. He applauded the teachers and parents who brought the children for such an event in their life.
Rev Richard Rukundo the coordinator youth and children programs at the church of Uganda provincial secretariat gave thanks to the teachers and called upon them to bring the children every year at Namugongo for them to grow in faith.
Rukundo Enock an administrator at Uganda Martyrs Museum appealed to children to be good in society. He said this relating to the Martyrs who were faithful to their God.
We interacted with the teachers of the children in different churches who called upon those that did not attend to always turn up during such events.
A few of the children who attended this year's celebration also spoke about the event.
This marks the beginning of the celebrations of this year’s Martyrs day which will be climaxed next weekend 3rd June.
