Use Technology To Tourism Advantage – MP Kajwenje

Different stakeholders in the promotion of tourism in the country have today gathered to re-sound the need for Ugandans, to join them in the conservation and promotion of tourism sites and plant trees to boost the country’s ecosystem.

The Member of Parliament for Nyabushozi district, Kajwenje Wilson who represented the tourism minister, has also called on Ugandans to use social media as a tool to boost tourism in the country, as it benefits from the revenue raised from the sector.

This was during the launch of the Lake Mburo conservation trip intended to explore the beauty of the Western side of the country.

Uganda as a country continues to stand as one of the top tourism destinations because of its beautiful scenery, hospitality, and diversity.

As a way of promoting and exposing to a wider audience, the breathtaking sites the country possesses, the Member of Parliament for Nyabushozi district, Kajwenje Wilson implored Ugandans to embrace photography and use social media to the country’s advantage.

He went on to assure Ugandans of his willingness to ensure that the policies intended to promote and protect the tourism sector be implemented.

Kajwenje emphasized the need for Ugandans to protect and enhance the country’s ecosystem by planting trees and pushing for more agricultural practices, hence, not leaving the role of environmental conservation to the government only.

On the other hand, Kisoro district LC V chairperson, Abel Bizimana questioned and called into action the government, to work on the country’s road network to ensure accessibility to all tourism sites.

He also reminded the general public to protect the Gorilla population against vices like poaching, as this greatly affects the tourism industry.

This year’s Lake Mburo conservation trip is not the first of its kind but rather, a continuous instrument used by the tourism authority to up the industry’s game in building the country and its economy.
