Rubanda district youth leaders decry low funding

During the consultative budget conference ahead of the district budget, Rubanda district Youth Councilor, Wilfred Arinda, has decried the limited resource allocation from the central government which he says has affected service delivery to youths in the district.

The district female youth representative, Clare Musimenta appealed to the Rubanda district local government to consider funding youth workshops for  at least twice a  year.

The Rubanda district LCV chairperson Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba says that the district receives the youth funds directly from the Gender ministry to the district youth sector and thus, appealed to the youth to come up with a work plan which will be used to lobby for more funding.

Kasyaba has highlighted on some of the projects the district intends to work on in the first phase of the 2022 – 2023 financial year budget.

Presiding over the function, the Chief Administrative Officer for Rubanda district, Alex Kwizera explained the target of  the budget for the financial year 2023 -2024 calling on stakeholders to embrace it.

The council also revealed that the Discretionary Development Equalization Grant for Rubanda district has increased from 120million to 291 million.
