RTD Director Of Prison Service Katugye Laid To Rest, Eulogized As Exceptional Officer

65-year-old retired director in charge administration of Uganda prisons service, Moses Katungye has been laid to rest.

The burial of the retired commissioner of prisons has been attended by the deputy commissioner of prisons, Akena Samuel, political leaders from Mitooma district among others.
The burial has taken place at the ancestral home of the late in Rugarama village -Kigende sub-county Mitooma district.

Representing the commissioner general of prisons, Commissioner Akena Samuel, hailed the late who he says was an incorruptible and disciplined prison officer whose legacy should be emulated by others.

Akena handed over sh12m donated by the Uganda Prisons service to help the widow in meeting burial expenses. Rev.fr. Steven Agume of Bubangizi parish lauded the late Moses Katungye for living an exemplary life on earth. The bishop described the corrupt ministers in government as reckless people reminding them they will give accountability in heaven.

Family members, led by the widow Lydia Katungye thanked Uganda prison service for reaching out to them in their time of need. Different officers from Uganda prisons service, residents, and leaders of Mitooma eulogized the Rtd Katungye as a mentor, honest, disciplined, and a person with high integrity.

The late Katungye Moses who served in various capacities at Uganda prisons service  has been battling lung and heart cancer  and died of multiple organ failure at Kampala hospital.
