MPs From Greater Northern Uganda Want Premier Nabbanja To Resign Over Iron Sheets Saga
Members of Parliament from the Greater Northern Uganda region, including Acholi, Lango, and West Nile have asked Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja to resign over the iron sheets scandal.
The MPs have specifically taken exception to a statement the Prime Minister made, proposing that iron sheets meant for northern Uganda be delivered instead to Karamoja after the items for Karamoja were instead allocated to some senior government officials, including ministers and MPs.
Nabbanja made the remarks last week while explaining her role in the Karamoja iron sheets saga, to the Parliamentary Committee on Presidential Affairs, which is investigating the scandal.
The MPs from Greater Northern Uganda, who addressed journalists at Parliament, vowed to storm the Prime Minister’s Office if she fails to release iron sheets meant for northern Uganda by the end of next week.
