Mother's Union Elects President
Grace Murengezi has been elected the new President of the Mother’s Union of the Province of the Church of Uganda.
The election was graced by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu at the Lweza Training and Conference Centre in Wakiso District.
The elective assembly of the Mother’s Union of the Province of the Church of Uganda attracted participants from all the regions of Uganda.
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu who was the chief guest at the event commended the mothers for the smooth process.
The Archbishop blessed the newly elected Provincial President of the Mother's Union and encouraged her to work hard amidst challenging situations.
In her address to the assembly, the newly elected Provincial President of the Mother's Union expressed joy upon winning the trust of the voters and showed gratitude to all those who participated in the election.
The former provincial president of the mother's Union Ruth Ssenyonyi, encouraged the newly elected president and her team to advocate for the wellbeing of women fellowship, promote harmony in families and proper child upbringing.
The event was graced by Bishops, Reverends, other church leaders and women from mother's Unions across the Church of Uganda dioceses.
