Investors Free To Repatriate Profits-Evelyn Anite
Investors are free to repatriate their profits after establishing investments in Uganda. This is according to Evelyn Anite, the State Minister for Investments and Privatisation.
According to the minister, all the government cares about are taxes and the jobs created in the country. She made the remarks while addressing journalists at the Uganda Media Centre.
Uganda’s investment policy is been open, allowing whoever can put up any investment in the country, so long as it does not violate the laws of the land.
This has seen foreigners, especially the Indian community dominate the sector. Most of these receive benefits like tax waivers, and free land, among others.

The minister who was speaking ahead of the Lohana community business summit said that the government does not care about how much an investor repatriates as long as they create some jobs for the locals.
The first-ever, Lohana community international business summit will be held in Kampala from…… give the dates. The summit is set to attract over 700 participants, with many from outside Uganda.
Estimated 27,000 Indians are living in Uganda with 228 endorsed Indian investment projects. they are engaged in trade, agriculture, the health sector, and the education sector among others.
