Government Halts Mandatory COVID tests at Entebbe
The Ugandan government has suspended mandatory COVID-19 testing for travellers flying in and out of Uganda at Entebbe International Airport.
Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala told the parliamentary committee on Commissions, Statutory authorities and State enterprises (COSASE) that those arriving will only be required to produce a negative test result taken 72 hours earlier.
However, Gen. Wamala maintained that the only travellers who will be sent for mandatory testing are those who will arrive at the airport with negative test results and still show signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
