FDC Election Participation - Youth At The Forefront

The FDC has been emphasizing the importance of youth participation in the country's political landscape. FDC aims to put the youth at the forefront of Uganda's socio-economic transformation. The national youth chairman of the FDC aired grievances in relation to the youth not being given chance to participate in decision making even when they constitute over 50 percent of the voters

The party has implemented various initiatives to enhance youth participation, including training programs and outreach activities.

As the country prepares for the upcoming general elections in 2026, the FDC youth league today has unveiled their plans for the year 2025 as they get themselves set for the general elections ahead.

while addressing the media, the national youth FDC chairperson hon. Adepo Francis, voiced that as the 2025–2026 general elections approach, the youth of the forum for democratic change (FDC), plan to be pivotal.

In his message he stated that in 2021 General Elections data, Uganda’s youth (ages 18–35) made up 77% of registered voters, yet their representation in decision-making remains minimal revealing that this imbalance can only be corrected if we take decisive action now.

The FDC also says they believe in the transformative power of Uganda’s youth and claim they have solutions for change in Uganda.
