Buganda Kingdom Concerned With Deteriorating Country’s Health Status

Buganda Kingdom has raised concern over the deteriorating health status in the Country putting emphasis on inadequate drugs in government hospitals, and ridiculously expensive private health facilities.

The concerned was raised by Buganda Kingdom 1st Deputy Premier Owek Al Hajji Twaha Kawaase, during the launch of new munno mu Kabi insure project by Werinde Insurance Company that was established in Buganda Kingdom.

The lack of drugs in some hospitals and other health care challenges were raised during this sitting and stake holders pledged to come up with long lasting impactful solutions.

The Kabaka of Buganda has been advocating for improved health standards in Buganda kingdom through different initiatives like Bulungi Bwansi, health insurance system among others. It’s on these grounds that Buganda Kingdom established a new Insurance system dubbed Werinde to support Kabaka’s people especially when they encounter health Challenges.

Giving his speech during the launch of new munno mu Kabi insure project of Werinde Insurance Company that was initiated by Buganda Kingdom at the function that was held at Muganzirwaza Katwe, 1st Deputy Buganda Kingdom Premier Alhaji Twaha Kawaase raised concern over the deteriorating health status in the Country, with inadequate drugs in government hospitals, and unreasonably expensive services in private health facilities.

Owek. Kawaase noted that to ensure improved health among the public the government needs to introduce the National Health Insurance Scheme, saying that Buganda Kingdom is prepared to help the central government on how to start a build-up of theNational Health Insurance.

Meanwhile the 2nd Deputy Premier of Buganda Kingdom who also doubles as the Buganda Kingdom Treasurer Owek Waggwa Nsibirwa called upon the Kabaka’s People to embrace new innovations and ensure that they benefit from different programs of Buganda Kingdom.

Jenifer Sensuwa Executive Director of Werinde Insurance Company highlighted how the Kabaka’s people will benefit from the new insurance product.
