Ambrose

The Bishop of Hoima catholic Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Vincent Kirabo Amooti has commissioned a multi-billion shilling new church building for the Kagadi Vicariate in Kagadi District. The Vicariate has over 5,000 Christians.

The newly unveiled church is at St. Peter’s Bwikara Catholic Parish located in Bwikara Sub-county, in Kagadi district.

Bishop Kirabo has asked Christians in the area to make use the newly commissioned church to appreciate and transmit the transforming messages of God.

He also urged the Christians to embrace government programmes, especially Parish Development Model (PDM) to improve their livelihoods.

The Rt. Rev. Kirabo condemned the rampant acts of vandalism and theft of church property, warning that the culprits risk long term curses from God. He wondered why such people commit crimes in the church instead of using it for prayer.

BISHOP VINCENT KIRABO (I have consecrated this church for the purpose of using it for prayers and church activities as well as promoting govt programs. Whoever tries to vandalize or steal any church property will get immediate curse. I do not want also illegal activities in the church which is a disgrace to God)

Rev. Fr. Jude Thaddeus Ahebwa, the Parish Priest St. Peter’s Bwikara Catholic Parish, thanked well-wishers for contributing to build the church which he said cost 800 million shillings.

He said that Kagadi Vicariate is engaged in numerous income generation projects, including running and secondary schools, health centres, projects in animal and crop husbandry, poultry and tree plantations. He also asked the Christians to use the church for adoration.

Church leaders and Christians thanked Bishop Kirabo for consecrating and blessing the church and asked for more support to enable the Kagadi Vicariate acquire a few more equipment to install in the church equipment.
