Bishop Kahuma Advises Kagadi Christians To Embrace PDM
The Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Samuel Kahuma Abwooli has advised Christians in Kagadi District and Bunyoro sub-region to engage in commercial farming, to benefit more from the Parish Development Model, a key Government poverty alleviation program
The cleric also appealed to the faithful to engage in poultry, animal, and bird rearing in a bid to diversity and improve their household income.
The Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Samuel Kahuma Abwooli advised during his pastoral visit to St. Luke C.O.U Kagadi Archdeaconry in Kagadi District.
The bishop announced that the Anglican Church in Uganda has passed a policy for every church to have a coffee plantation project, alongside other income-generating activities at the household level.
The Bishop confirmed over 200 children into the Anglican faith and laid a foundation stone for the construction of the church house. He asked Christians to shun the evils of unforgiving heart, paganism, theft, vandalism, corruption, and envy.
Rev. Patrick Musinguzi, the Vicar at St. Luke C.O.U Kagadi Arch-deaconry says the church has grown rapidly with the purchase of church land, and implemented church projects. He, however, expressed concern over external interference in church programs.
The Assistant Head of the Laity Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, Kabasana Alice thanked Bishop Kahuma for his spiritual guidance and for initiating several projects such as the Sacco, and Union formation by church leaders.
