Archbishop Kaziimba asks for revisit of article 82

The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop Church of Uganda has asked MPs to revisit article 82 of the constitution that indicates that no business shall be conducted in Parliament until the position of the Speaker has been filled.

Speaking at the pre-funeral service of the Late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah, Archbishop Kazimba noted that whereas the family and the Ugandans are supposed to be mourning, campaigns are ongoing.

He cited the need to revisit the constitution arguing that this was not predicted when the law was made.

Archbishop Kaziimba also comforted the mourners while relating life to entering a lift. He said “There is time for entering a lift and there is time to get out of it.
