38 Years Of NRM: President Museveni Guarantees Peace To Ugandans
As Uganda celebrates 38 years of the National Resistance Movement governance, President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that Uganda will forever remain a peaceful, secure and prosperous country.
The President made the remarks during his address to mark the 38th NRM victory anniversary at state house, Nakasero.
He explained several achievements attained by his government such as economic stability, infrastructural development, peace and security and among others.
Having come in power on 26th January 1986, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) today marks 38 years in power under the chairmanship of President Yoweri Museveni.
Delivering his address to mark the 38th NRM Victory Anniversary at state house Nakasero, President Museveni emphasized that the NRM government has accomplished significant feats, which are clearly evident to all citizens of Uganda.
The President also assured Ugandans of a peaceful, secure and prosperous country despite the disturbances from the Allied Democratic Forces rebels who have destabilised some parts of western Uganda.
He however says that a strong infrastructure has been established to eliminate these terrorists once and for all.
President Museveni also stated that Uganda's economy is projected to expand from UShs. 184.3 trillion in the financial year 2022/23 to UShs. 204.9 trillion by the end of the financial year 2023/24, and then surge to UShs. 225.5 trillion in the financial year 2024/25. The president believes that this significant growth will greatly contribute to Uganda's economic progress and development.
He therefore, condemned corruption in strong possible means and promised to deal with the corrupt this year.
The president also congratulated Uganda upon hosting the 19th Non Aligned Movement and the 3rd South summit of the G77 + China.
This year’s 38th NRM Victory Day Anniversary has been celebrated in Jinja City at St. John SSS Wakitaka play grounds in Jinja Northern Division.
