Speaker Among Asks Government To Establish Disaster Commission
The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has directed the minister for disaster preparedness to present a statement explaining measures being taken to save the lives of residents in Kisoro district who are suffering the effects of floods.
Mudslides have hit several parts of Kisoro and neighbouring Rubanda and Rukiga districts, leaving 18 people dead.
The Rt. Hon. Among concerned government is adamant in establishing a disaster commission to better manage disasters, despite several calls and pleas.
