Several Ugandan Men Seek Removal Of Certain Details From Internal Affairs System After Negative DNA Results
The Internal affairs ministry has noted with concern the number of men seeking retrieval of some information from the system after receiving disappointing results from DNA tests carried out.
The ministry spokesperson, Simon Mundeyi has however redirected over 34 gentlemen to first approach National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) offices before going to the Ministry of internal affairs.
Mundeyi noted that recently, Uganda has recorded a 70% increase in the number of men who have sort for DNA services for their children.
Recently, The Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that the number of men seeking Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) tests for their children had shot up all of a sudden in recent months as more Ugandans seek clarity on the paternity of their children.
Addressing journalists at police headquarters in Naguru, the Ministry of internal affairs spokesman, Simon Mundeyi said they have recorded numbers of over 34 men approaching their offices to have their details from children’s documents erased from their system, following negative DNA results.
He advised the gentlemen to visit the National Identification & Registration Authority (NIRA) offices before going to them otherwise, they will continue being disappointed since the kind of help they need can only be offered by a different ministry but not them.
Meanwhile, the ministry has noted that they have resolved the issue surrounding the use of polycarbonate passports in Denmark that were limiting the movement of Ugandans.
It should be remembered that On March 30, the government of Uganda introduced Polycarbonate e-passports with the intention of easing travellers’ experiences, improving document verification and enhancing travel security for Uganda citizens.
