Parajwoki COU Christians Bid Farewell To Priest
Christians of All Saints’ Church of Uganda Parish in Parajwoki, Hoima city under Bunyoro Kitara Diocese have bid farewell to their priest, the Rev. Captain Wilson Atuhirwe who has been reassigned other duties.
The Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, Rt. Rev. Samuel Kahuma Abwooli promoted Rev. Atuhirwe and appointed him the Archdeacon of the newly created Katikengeye Archdeaconry in Kagadi District.
It was an emotional day at All Saints Church of Uganda - Parajwoki in Hoima City under Bunyoro Kitara Diocese as Christians bid farewell to their parish priest, the Rev. Captain Wilson Atuhirwe. He will soon take up new duties on promotion as the Archdeacon of the newly created Katikengeye Archdeaconry in Kagadi District.
The Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese Rt. Rev. Samuel Kahuma Abwooli recently sent the Rev. Captain Atuhirwe to Katikangeye Archdeaconry after serving for four years in Parajwoki. He will be replaced by Rev. Daniel Tumwesige who is the diocesan planning officer as the caretaker parish priest.
The farewell service was attended by different dignitaries including the Hoima City Woman Member of Parliament Nyakato Asinansi, Hoima West Division Mayor Robert Ruhirwa among others.
The head of the Laity at All Saints Church of Uganda- Parajwoki, Leonard Muhumuza said that Rev. Capt. Atuhirwe will be remembered not only for his good sermons that touched many but also being transparent and developmental.
While leading his last service here, the Rev. Captain Atuhirwe has asked wives and husbands to love and respect each other to avoid domestic violence and family breakups.
Rev. Capt. Atuhirwe is credited for numerous development projects in the education sector especially at Bulemwa Primary School and creating a new Parish at Kitoba Church of Uganda.
The Hoima City Woman MP, Asinansi Nyakato who was the guest of honor was concerned over the rising cases of men battering wives in Hoima city.
During the farewell service, Christians raised funds for the Rev. Captain Atuhirwe to buy iron sheets to complete his residential house in Kiziranfumbi, Kikuube district.
