Kikuube District Headquarters Construction To Cost 5.5 Bn
Kikuube district has launched the construction of a 5.5 Billion district headquarters in Kiziranfumbi Sub County. The construction project will be done in phases to save the district from spending 6 Million Shillings quarterly rent.
For the last 5 years, the district has been housed on private property. Kikuube district has embarked on a move to construct a 5.5 billion district headquarters project.
The project is being implemented with funding from the office of the Prime Minister under the Development Response to Displacement Impact Project DRDIP with the first phase consuming 2.2 Billion shillings.
Kikuube District Chairperson LC 5 Peter Banura who also presided over the function as chief guest expressed delight saying his staff has been over-congested and the construction of the new headquarters will give them enough space.
He revealed that after the construction of their new home, the main focus is going to be put on service delivery.
Kikuube district Engineer Emmanuel Alinaitwe says the project is going to be implemented in phases starting with the ground floor and the wall fence as they wait for more funds.
The Buhaguzi East MP Stephen Aseera says the district has been operating in the old structures of the former Kiziramfumbi Sub County offices hence depicting a bad image.
The contract has been awarded to CMD Construction Company expected to be handed over in July.
Kikuube district Local Government started operating on July 1st, 2018 after being carved out of Hoima District.
