Dr. Besigye And Mukaaku Face Incitement Charges At Buganda Road Court

Dr Kizza Besigye has appeared before Buganda Road Court to face charges of inciting violence over a 2023 demonstration against high cost of food prices.

The charges stem from his protests in Kampala in 2022, where he demonstrated against the high prices of commodities together with opposition activist Samuel Lubega Mukaaku

The Buganda Road Magistrates Court has started hearing the case, and the court has instructed the Director of Public Prosecutions to summon witnesses against Besigye and Mukaaku  

Dr. Kizza Besigye has appeared before Buganda Road Court to face charges of inciting violence over a 2023 demonstration against high cost of food prices.

The charges stem from his protests in Kampala in 2022, where he demonstrated against the high prices of commodities together with opposition activist Samuel Lubega Mukaaku

During the court session the evidence was presented to the court and the defense disapproved of the information.

However, Erias lukwango examined prosecution witness as the judge requested them to wait for further hearing from other witness

In the press briefing, Lukwago stated that the accused Dr. Kizza is being persecuted since they expected the file to be closed today.

The veteran opposition figure has been vocal about the economic hardships faced by Ugandans, often calling on the government to address the rising cost of living.
