Come Home: A Christmas Light in the Darkness

Come Home: A Christmas Light in the Darkness

We used to celebrate the birth of a King,

but now the only kings people want are King Size beds in motels,

king size bottles in bars,

And king size egos thinking the world owes them a kingdom for free.

Christmas used to be holy.

Now it is “holey”

too many holes in the story,

Let me tell you

Christmas in Africa?

It is the Olympics of food.

Your mother will cook food, and she will feed you until your stomach files a complaint with the Holy Spirit.

Only that nowadays…

People don’t even cook.

They choose KFC, I don't mean the KFC you know...I mean KFC kneeling For Calories instead of Kneeling For Christ

My sister, that is not spirit.

That is oil.

But let’s talk…

Let’s talk about how we are celebrating Christmas wrongly.

Bars are booming,

Church is glooming,

Lodges are blooming,

But Heaven is zooming

Past the ones it’s calling.

People are sinning with 4G speed

and repenting with a 2G connection.

"You call it festive season…

but why has it become the only Feast I have season?"

God is watching you.

Christmas is presence.

The presence of God.

The presence of love.

The presence of hope in a room full of darkness

Because light shines brightest

when the people you love can’t.

This world is dark

Not because the sun has failed,

but because our souls have dimmed.

Darkness is dependence on pleasure instead of purpose.

Darkness is laughing online while crying offline.

Darkness is celebrating Christmas without Christ.

No wonder most of you have replaced Him

with X

turning Christmas into X-mas.

Don’t you dare erase our Christ.

So come home, child.

Jesus is not an Apple product but

He must be the apple of your eye.

His mission was to save you from sin

That is why He did not wear moccasins.

Or even ride a limousine.

He wasn't here chasing bling-bling; no wonder he broke all the chains.

He was born into a dark world

because light only makes sense where darkness exists.

A Savior only matters when people are lost.

And let’s be honest

We are lost.

But that’s why the Light came.

Because we can’t fix ourselves.

WE can't fix WE

God put on skin

so we could put on grace.

So this Christmas,

come home.

Come home,

because the Light is still shining,

and the Child is still calling,

and the world is still dark

But even in this darkness,

God still sends reminders in yellow…

like MTN, showing us that everywhere you go

Light can still find you!
