After understanding the history of the very first martyr in Busoga Diocese, Today we bring you the central Busoga Diocese.
It was joy all over on Sunday 13th November 2016 when The Diocese of Central Busoga was officially inaugurated by the then Archbishop of the Church Of Uganda, The Rt. Rev. Stanley Ntagali, the 8th Archbishop of The Church Of Uganda. Rev, can. Patrick Wakula on the same day was ordained as the first Bishop of the diocese.
Central Busoga Diocese covers 5 districts out of the 11 political districts that form the Busoga sub Region.
The Diocese is comprised of a number of parishes, and daughter churches all being embedded in the 10 archdeaconries and a denary that forms the diocese.
Central Busoga Diocese being located in the educational centre of the Church Missionary Society (CMS), has a number of primary, secondary and core PTC which serves almost the entire subregion.
At its inauguration, the diocese set a strategic plan which they hoped to have achieved by this 7th year of existence although Covid 19 lockdown of 2020-2021 interrupted the strategic progress. However. The diocese has registered a number of achievements nevertheless.
After years of closure, the Bishop recounts a number of challenges that strained Busoga University a central Busoga Diocese project to its closure although the attempts to revamp it are in high gear with support from the government.
Central Busoga Diocese has encountered a number of challenges among which is land grabbing, however, the Diocesan Secretary says they already have working solutions for the challenges.
Rev. can. Patrick Kemba, the Diocesan secretary says the Diocese is so prepared for Martyrs Day and he has encouraged all the people to come and be part of the 3rd June Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations
