Archbishop Kaziimba Lays Foundation Stone For St. Andrew’s Church Project In Bukoto
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, has today laid the foundation stone for the construction of St. Andrew’s Church of Uganda Courts in Bukoto, Kampala.
The multi-billion-shilling project is expected to improve clergy accommodation and enhance the church's income generation.
The project, estimated to cost 8.5 billion shillings, has already seen a strong start with over 100 million shillings raised. Of this, 18 million shillings was collected in cash during the Palm Sunday service, where Archbishop Kaziimba was the main celebrant.
In his sermon, the archbishop Kaziimba condemned the practice of land grabbing, emphasising that land is a gift from God and should not be misused.
He called upon believers to actively support church initiatives and contribute towards the development project.
He notes that Christians must recognise that they have talents given by God and should use them faithfully.
This project will provide better accommodation for clergy and create opportunities for income generation to support church activities.
Church leaders also expressed gratitude to the congregation for their continued generosity and commitment toward the project.
The church treasurer, Aron Semakula, revealed that construction is expected to be completed within two years.
The St. Andrew’s Church project is seen as a major step in strengthening the church’s infrastructure and mission, with leaders calling for continued support from believers and the wider community.
