Archbishop Kaziimba Calls On President Museveni To Assent To The Anti-Homosexuality Bill

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba-Mugalu, has appealed to President Yoweri Museveni to assent to the Anti-homosexuality Bill that was recently passed by Parliament, for it to become law and help protect Ugandans from sexual immorality.

The Archbishop appealed while delivering his Easter message at the offices of the Province of the Church of Uganda at Namirembe in Kampala.

His Grace called on Christians to use the Easter season to repent and turn to God as they commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ the Saviour.

Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu delivered his Easter message to Christians this morning at his offices on Namirembe Hill.

He appealed to President Yoweri Museveni to sign the Anti-homosexuality bill into law and not be intimidated by anyone, including powerful and rich Western countries. The Archbishop explained that these are matters of Uganda and should be decided by Ugandans who know what they want.

His Grace Dr. Kazimba also challenged believers to renew their faith as they commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ who overcame evil. He urged the people to emulate Jesus to overcome the evil of corruption just as Christ overcame death.

Dr. Kaziimba also reminded Christians of the dire need to get out of poverty through hard work since even the Bible says faith without action is dead faith. The lead Anglican cleric stressed the need for a mindset change to see the light.

The Provincial mothers union President Grace Murengezi appealed to mothers to renew their faith this Easter Season and work for harmony in the family.

Former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, who is the Chairman of the Fundraising Committee for the Janani Luwum Church House, gave journalists an update on how the Church House debt currently stands.
