Archbishop Calls For Land Titling And Registration To Prevent Evictions
The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Steven Samuel Kazimba-Mugalu, has urged people to have their land titled and/or registered to avoid disputes and evictions that can lead to loss of lives.
The Archbishop gave the counsel at the offices of Buganda Land Board where he went to receive documents indicating his ownership of land under the Buganda Land Board.
The offices of Buganda Land Board at the Masengere Building in Katwe hosted the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Steven Samuel Kazimba-Mugalu.
The Archbishop came personally to get for himself an LE-Card after registering his land with Buganda Land Board. He praised Buganda Land Board for its efficiency and urged other people who own land under the Kabaka’s estate, to be more diligent in obtaining documents indicating their ownership of the land.
The Archbishop also urged land owners to ensure that their land is always in use not only to keep away fraudsters but also have income generation projects on it for the household to eradicate poverty.
The Chairperson Buganda Land Board Omukungu Simon Kaboggozza commended Archbishop Dr. Kazimba-Mugalu for the gesture, saying that it was a great example to others. He and urged people to invest in strengthening their settlements by obtaining the relevant documents on royal land.
